Mexico’s plans to re-export U.S. pure fuel may make the nation a serious LNG hub, in response to an trade analyst.

“Mexico at the moment imports round 6 Bcf/d of pure fuel, largely for energy era and industrial use,” Sergio Chapa, senior LNG analyst at Poten & Companions, advised NGI’s Mexico GPI. “The dozen liquefied pure fuel export tasks which can be both already below development or on the drafting board would require no less than one other 9 Bcf/d.”

He added: “A lot of the LNG export tasks are positioned alongside already-existing pipelines that obtain fuel from the Permian Basin and different US sources.”
