Equinor has introduced that the gasoline leak that occurred on the Hammerfest LNG plant at Melkøya on 31 Might 2023 has been stopped and normalisation is beneath manner.

Equinor’s emergency response organisation has been demobilised and the emer-gency providers have left Melkøya.

The leak occurred in reference to a valve in one of many plant’s cooling cir-cuits. The gasoline that leaked is used for cooling throughout manufacturing of LNG.

Equinor’s emergency response organisation was mobilised and the incident was dealt with in collaboration with emergency providers. Related authorities had been notified. There have been 98 individuals current on the manufacturing unit when the incident occurred. All person-nel are accounted for and no accidents had been reported.
