Coalition targets zero flaring at Egyptian LNG export terminal

Egyptian LNG has awarded a feasibility research contract to a Bechtel-led Coalition for Decarbonisation which will assess implementation of a zero-flaring system at its export terminal (ELNG) in Idku, east of Alexandria.

The feasibility research will assess choices for whole routine flaring restoration by modifications to the prevailing flare and compression techniques on the ELNG facility, decreasing methane emissions. The fast-tracked Feasibility Research goals to maneuver into Entrance-Finish Engineering Design (FEED) part by early 2023.
