Methanol engines make up 1 / 4 of deliberate initiatives, MAN says

Methanol engines account for 25% of the 550 models presently within the present ‘mission pipeline’ for engine designer MAN Power Options (MAN ES).

Talking in a webinar specializing in and selling using methanol as a gasoline, MAN ES head of promotion and buyer help Thomas Hansen detailed that 68% of those are for container ships, 20% bulk carriers, 10% tankers and a couple of% normal cargo vessels.

Of the remaining 550 engine initiatives within the works, 35% are for engines that may use gasoline oil, 36% for methane or LNG, 3.7%
