Golar LNG Ltd has introduced that FLNG Gimi arrived on the GTA discipline offshore Mauritania and Senegal on 10 January 2024. Golar has notified bp of FLNG Gimi’s arrival. Following completion of all preparatory actions, FLNG Gimi will likely be manoeuvred to her berth on the hub and for her subsequent connection to the feed gasoline pipeline. Golar and bp have agreed that FLNG Gimi will proceed to moor offshore Tenerife whereas awaiting completion of the mandatory preparatory actions.
Golar CEO, Karl-Fredrik Staubo, commented: “Golar is happy to see that the FLNG Gimi has arrived on the GTA discipline offshore Mauritania and Senegal, her dwelling for the following 20 years. We’re excited to combine the Golar FLNG facility with the GTA hub, and beginning the following section of our long-term relationship with bp and the GTA companions into LNG manufacturing.”
Rahman Rahmanov, bp’s Vice President Tasks for Mauritania & Senegal, added: “It is a main step ahead for total supply of the GTA1 challenge in Mauritania and Senegal. Safely attaining this milestone is a results of nice teamwork.”
