Matson has signed a $1bn contract with Philly Shipyard to construct three new 3,600 TEU Aloha Class containerships which can characteristic twin gas engines that may run on standard marine gas or liquefied pure fuel (LNG).
Different energy-saving options embody a ‘fuel-efficient hull design, environmentally protected double hull gas tanks and freshwater ballast programs’. The deal was signed by subsidiary Matson Navigation Firm, a number one US service within the Pacific.
