KUALA LUMPUR: MISC Bhd
has added two new generations liquefied pure fuel (LNG) carriers – Seri Damai and Seri Daya – to its fleet of LNG carriers.
In an announcement, the world’s largest single owner-operator of LNG carriers stated the 174,000 CBM LNG carriers are outfitted with good and sustainable applied sciences.
Upon supply, the carriers, constructed by Samsung Heavy Industries Co Ltd, shall be on long-term charters to ExxonMobil’s wholly owned subsidiary SeaRiver Maritime LLC and shall be managed by Eaglestar Shipmanagement (S) Pte Ltd.
MISC president and group CEO Captain Rajalingam Subramaniam stated the supply of the 2 LNG carriers marks a robust begin to the 12 months and important milestone in MISC’s partnership with SeaRiver Maritime.
“It is a step ahead in supporting a net-zero future as we add trendy, energy-efficient LNG carriers to help ExxonMobil’s rising LNG enterprise,” he added.
Seri Damai and Seri Daya will add to MISC’s fleet power, which at present includes 31 LNG carriers for MISC’s GAS Enterprise, along with six Very Giant Ethane Carriers (VLECs) and two LNG Floating Storage Items (FSUs), which have a mixed deadweight tonnage (dwt) capability of over two million tonnes.
